Twelve Cultural Memorials Newly Registered under State Protection

Ulaanbaatar, 28, February 2024. /MONTSAME/. In Mongolia, 197 memorials are registered in the List of Immovable Historical and Cultural Memorials under State Protection. During its regular meeting on February 28, 2024, the Cabinet approved the registration of 12 new memorials on the list.


Within the confines of relevant regulations, the memorials were nominated from the "List of Immovable Historical and Cultural Memorials under Protection of Aimags and the Capital City," considering proposals from researchers and nine organizations working in the field.


These invaluable memorials are as follows:


1. Deer Stone Monuments in Shivert Pass, Battsengel soum, Arkhangai aimag,

2. Memorial Complex in Toshin pass, Altai soum, Bayan-Ulgii aimag,

3. Man Stone Monument in Baga Khargait, Sagsai soum, Bayan-Ulgii aimag,

4. Tomb belonging to Hunnu Era in Ovoono Khar, Taishir soum, Gobi-Altai aimag,

5. Shaakhar Hill’s cave paintings, Chandmani soum, Gobi-Altai aimag,

6. Khylar Uvuljuu’s cave painting, Tsagaanchuluut soum, Zavkhan aimag,

7. Dongoi Shiree’s Deer Stone Monuments, Tuvshinshiree soum, Sukhbaatar aimag,

8. Khermen Denj’s ruin, Zaamar soum, Tuv aimag,

9. Shar Bulag’s cave painting, Umnugobi soum, Uvs aimag,

10. Sangiin Kherem, Jargalan soum, Khovd aimag,

11. Zulegt River’s Deer Stone Monuments, Tarialan soum, Khuvsgul aimag,

12. Tsenkhermandal’s Inscriptions, Tsenkhermandal soum, Khentii aimag.


To ensure the preservation of memorials under state protection, it is crucial to strategize and enact measures that safeguard their original appearance and integrity. These efforts will not only enhance the overall value and significance of the memorials but also contribute to the development of cultural tourism in Mongolia.
