Farmers Benefiting from Government Policy Support
SocietyUlaanbaatar, October 3, 2023 /MONTSAME/. President
of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa is making a working trip to Selenge, Orkhon and Bulgan
aimags to get acquainted with the harvesting process and food producers
operations.
Even though the domestic harvest will fully
satisfy wheat and potato demands of Mongolia according to the crop production
forecast, continues precipitation in agrarian regions recent
days is causing harvest delay. Currently, the harvesting is running at 40
percent for potatoes and vegetables, 10 percent for grain, 5-7 percent for oil and
fodder crops.
When the President visited Iven Turuu LLC of Baruunburen
soum in Selenge aimag, General Director of the Company D.Bat expressed gratitude
for policy support of government, noting that a soft loan of MNT 600 million for
increasing its circulating capital within the “Food Supply and Safety” National
Campaign has brought its benefits. The company reserves up to 300 tons of good
quality wheat seed from its harvested crop for the next year planting and the crop
yield reaches 28 centner.
General Director of Orkhon Taria LLC in Jargalant soum in
Orkhon aimag Delgerbayar also emphasized that soft loans and tax relief to boost
crop farming are effectively influencing crop farming companies and suppliers of
agrarian machineries and equipment to expand their operations and increase crop
production. Orkhon Taria LLC got a soft loan of MNT 1.5 billion for circulating
capital and machinery.
Within the Food Revolution, a total of MNT 150 billion in soft loans has been delivered to 1200 agricultural companies so far.
