Consultative Meeting between Foreign Ministries of Mongolia and India

/MONTSAME/. The 4th Consultative
Meeting between the Foreign Ministries of Mongolia and the Republic of India was
held on September 12, 2023 in Ulaanbaatar. The meeting was co-chaired by State
Secretary of the Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Ankhbayar Nyamdorj on the
Mongolian side, and Secretary (East) of Ministry of External Affairs of
India Shri Saurabh Kumar on the Indian side.
The parties exchanged views on wide range of issues
including strengthening the Strategic Partnership between
Mongolia and India, conducting high-level mutual visits, deepening economic
cooperation and progress of projects such as constructions of the Oil Refinery,
a symbol of cooperation between the two countries, Mongolia-India Friendship School,
and the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Center for Excellence in IT, Communication
and Outsourcing.
At the Consultative Meeting, State Secretary Ankhbayar
emphasized that Mongolia attaches great importance to the Strategic Partnership
relationship being developed with its "spiritual neighbor" and a
vital partner in the region and expressed the country’s position to enrich the
cooperation in mining, agriculture, and health sectors and increase trade
between the two countries.
The parties expressed their satisfaction with the
cooperation between Mongolia and India in the fields of security, defense,
education, culture, as well as in the regional and international arenas, and
agreed to supply coking coal from Mongolia to the Indian market, to accelerate
the implementation of joint projects and programs, and train Mongolian
specialists in law, road, transport, communication and information technology
in India.
In addition, both sides noted that the parties pay special
attention to the development of the Oil Refinery and confirmed their commitment
to collaborating closely in putting the Oil Refinery into operation within the
planned period.
