Mongolia Deposited the Instruments of Ratification

/MONTSAME/. On
June 27, 2023, H.E. Mr.Ariunbold Yadmaa, Ambassador of Mongolia to Canada and
the Permanent Representative of Mongolia to ICAO, deposited the instruments of
ratification of the protocols relating to the amendment of Article 50(a) and
Article 56 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation at the
International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Headquarters in Montréal. Mr.
Michael Gill, Director of the Legal Bureau of ICAO witnessed the deposit of the
instruments of ratification.
Both
Protocols were adopted by 39th Session of ICAO Assembly on October 6,
2016, and shall come into force upon the deposit of 128th instrument of
ratification with ICAO. Mongolia became the 85th state that ratified both
protocols.
The amendment of Article 50(a) would provide for the increase in Council membership from 36 to 40 States. The amendment of Article 56 would provide for the increase in the Air Navigation Commission membership from 19 to 21 technical experts.
