Translator D.Boldbaatar awarded ‘Special Book Award of China’

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On September 14, Sinologist, translator Dr. D. Boldbaatar was awarded the ‘Special Book Award of China’.


This year’s award had 15 recipients including the sinologists and translators from Mongolia, the U.S, Germany, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Pakistan, etc.


D.Boldbaatar has translated many ancient Chinese classics such as "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", "Water Margin", "The Poetry of Hanshan" and the international bestseller "Wolf' Totem". Moreover, he has translated more than 1,400 books, movies, and television programs, including “Chinggis Khaan” from Chinese into Mongolian and made them available to Mongolians.


The ‘Special Book Award of China’ is an annual award established by the State Press and Publication Administration of the People's Republic of China to recognize foreign translators, writers and publishers who have made significant contributions to introducing China, translating and publishing Chinese books, and promoting cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
