Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The construction of the Winter Sports Palace being built in Khan-Uul district of the capital city is currently over 90 percent. Starting from this week, its Olympic-sized ice rink has also begun to be constructed.

The ice rink’s construction is being carried out by rink-makers of AST Eis- und Solartechnik GmbH, an Austrian company specialized in constructing professional ice rinks, in collaboration with Mongolian engineers. The rink consists of 4-5 layers of ice, highlighted the experts.

Due to the pandemic situation as well as various corresponding restrictions that were set in place, the foreign experts were not able to arrive as scheduled. As the construction nears completion, the opening of the Winter Sports Palace is soon planned to take place.
