Mongolian students to study at the University of Missouri with preferential tuition fees

/MONTSAME/ A Memorandum of Understanding was established between the Ministry
of Education and Science and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, USA.
The
memorandum was signed by Mongolia’s Minister of Education and Science
L.Enkh-Amgalan and Rector of the University of Missouri Dr. Jennifer Lundgren
today morning at 6 a.m. (local time in Mongolia). Ambassador of Mongolia to the United
Stated Yo.Otgonbayar attended the virtual event.
Establishment
of the memorandum enables Mongolian students to study at the School of Business of the University of Missouri-Kansas City with the same tuition fee for U.S. students and
study at the School of Engineering and Science with discounted tuition.
Minimum
grade of high school graduates applying for bachelor’s degree is required to be
80+, while grade point average for master’s degree is 3. The applicant
is also required to have TOEFL IBT score higher than 79 and IELT score of 6.5.
UMKC's annual tuition fee for foreign students is USD 24,000 and USD 96.000 for four
years of period. However, Mongolian students will be provided with opportunity to study with annual tuition fee of USD 9900 or USD 39,600 for four years of
term within the framework of the memorandum.
While, master’s
students will study at the School of Business with the same tuition for local students
and study at the School of Engineering and Science with discount of USD 8500.
Further, the Ministry is working to build relations between the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences and the University of Missouri to implement a dual-diploma program.
Founded in 1929, the University of Missouri-Kansas City is a state university which leads with its bachelor's and master's programs in engineering, technology, science, medical science and computing. Over 16,000 students are studying at the university today.
