Monitoring and Coordination Authority for Medication and Medical Equipment set up

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Following decisions were made at the Cabinet meeting convened on December 16.
- Monitoring and Coordination Authority for Medication and Medical Equipment has been set up. In the past 20 years, around 2500 pharmaceutical factories, medications, medical equipment and biologically active product providers and pharmacies were established. However, as there is no integrated structure for state coordination and monitoring in the pharmaceutical market, the Cabinet considered it proper to establish the agency.
- The Cabinet approved a list of necessary reserves of food products and other items required to ensure preparedness and take responsive measures in emergency situations of pandemic and others that poses threats to public health. The list includes 27 types of products such as meat, wheat seed, wheat, rice, milk, milk products, potatoes, vegetable, sugar, salt, bottled water, toilet paper, milk powder for kids, diaper, disinfection substance for surface cleansing, toothpaste, match, all types of battery, charger as well as hay and fodder.
- In aims of financing a project “ Medical equipment renovation in Military Central Hospital”, the Cabinet backed a draft export loan agreement to be established between the Government of Mongolia and UniCredit Bank of Austria. The EUR 8 million loan with non-interest rate has a repayment period of 14 years with a grace period of 5 years.
- The Cabinet also made a list of items to be exempted from VAT and customs duties, including all types of rice, vegetable oil, all types of fodder, hay, fodder seed, wheat, wheat seed, oily plant and raw vegetable oil.
- The School of Fine Arts and Design of the Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture has been extended to the Institute of Fine Arts. The school prepares specialists in 14 professions within five main programs, namely, painting, drawing, sculpture, fashion design and photo art.
