Exhibition of artworks created by prisoners on display

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the occasion of Workers Day of the General Executive Agency for Court Decisions, the 45th prison camp in collaboration with the Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery launched a handicraft exhibition entitled “My dream house” with artworks created by prisoners at the prison camp.


During the event, Director of the Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery (MNMAG) B.Sarantuya said that the exhibition gives hope to many prisoners. It is commendable that expressing and showing all their happiness which come from their inner world in artworks to the public. It is also vivid that they expressed their dreams “I will live in such a nice house once I am released from the prison”. I think it could become psychotherapy to them.


Over 50 artworks crafted with felt, paper art, embroidery, engraving and thread are on display.  




The 45-day “My Dream House” program was organized to study the socio-psychological aspects of prisoners and to apply psychological methods to them. And we are happy for exhibiting artworks created by our prisoners,” senior social worker at the 405th prison camp, Major P.Bayarbaatar talked.


Staff of the 405th prison camp remarked that the psychotherapy training combined with music and painting conducted by the MNMAG has been very effective.
