Children of Mongolians abroad to receive child allowance until OctoberPolitics
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The 'Child Money' monthly allowance for children is granted to those who have applied nationwide in Mongolia. As of April 2020, over 1,122,400 children receive the allowance. As a part of its package of social welfare measures during the COVID-19 pandemic, the government has resolved to raise the monthly child allowance to MNT100,000 until October 1 this year.
Following the decision, the number of allowance applicants has increased by 20,000 and tends to grow. In addition, many Mongolians staying abroad have applied to the Agency for Labor and Welfare Service for child allowance.
Therefore, the Cabinet, at its regular meeting on May 13, resolved to grant the allowance to children of Mongolian nationals living abroad, who applied for the benefit, beginning from the month they have applied until October 1.
By April 2020, 12 thousand out of 27 thousand children under 18 of Mongolian nationals living in foreign countries, receive the child money allowance.
