Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. According to the Master Plan of Ulaanbaatar city to have six subcenters with a purpose to make it multi-centered, the ‘Ulaanbaatar Urban Services and Ger Areas Development Investment Program’ (GADIP) is currently under implementation to develop main trunk infrastructure in the six subcenters namely ‘Bayankhoshuu,’ ‘Selbe,’ ‘Dambadarjaa,’ ‘Denjiin Myanga,’ ‘Sharkhad’ and ‘Tolgoit’ in the framework of all three tranches, scheduled to complete in 2023.

Overall project implementation in Bayankhoshuu and Selbe subcenters is now at over 80 percent.

Within the tranche 1 of the project – Selbe and Bayankhoshuu subcenters, more than 50 works have been executed.

In this regard, Governor of the capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar S.Amarsaikhan got acquainted with the process of construction works of social and engineering facilities in the subcenters on April 18.

“In the Selbe subcenter, a construction work of a 28MW heating plant in 14th khoroo of Sukhbaatar District is running at over 70 percent. After its commissioning, public and private entities, including general educational school No:35 and kindergarten No:51 will be connected to the heating in the first turn. Thanks to the heating plant, the annual coal consumption of ger area households will be reduced by 15 thousand tons, and stoves of 10 thousand families and steam boilers of over 10 entities will no longer be used,” said Kh.Tsolmonbayar, heating engineer of the project.  

Afterward, the Governor checked the construction process of a 6.6-km-long auto road and three iron concrete bridges with lengths of 20 meters, 30 meters and 60 meters, being built over the Selbe River. Believed to be highly significant to reduce traffic burden in northern Ulaanbaatar -- Dari-Ekh and Doloon Buudal roads, this 6.6km road is expected to be commissioned by September 30.    

Moreover, the Governor saw the construction process of 240-children kindergarten, which is now at 87 percent, center of information technology services as well as a business incubator and vocational training center.  

Mr.Amarsaikhan said, “As the construction work of Selbe subcenter is to complete this year, there will be the installed power and basis available to provide about 6000 households, including 3700 households of the area with reliable energy and water. Now we need to open a pre-operational administrative office and ensure preparations to commission the subcenter.”   

After seeing the process of construction works in Selbe subcenter, Governor S.Amarsaikhan headed to Bayankhoshuu subcenter, where he checked construction works of the garden park and public sports complex to be built in the 9th and 25th khoroos of Songinokhairkhan.  

“Planned to cover two hectares of area, there will be a football pitch, basketball court, and fitness area, surrounded by cycling track and pedestrian road, with more facilities, such as fountain and WCs. Planning is complete and a selection of contractors will be carried out,” reported D.Avirmed, project coordinator of the GADIP.
