Foreign Minister attending OSCE PA Silk Road Support Group Conference
PoliticsUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar is participating in the Second International Conference of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's Silk Road
Support Group, taking place in Minsk, Belarus on April 29-30 under the theme ‘Belt
and Road: Deepening Cooperation for Sustainable Development and Prosperity’.
After
addressing the opening, Foreign Minister D.Tsogtbaatar took
part in a panel titled ‘Implementation of International
Infrastructure Projects — the Basis for the Success of the Belt and Road
Initiative’. He exchanged views with the conference participants on the opportunities
to build fruitful relations and cooperation. In particular, an important
proposal was made to harmonize the customs and inspection procedures and requirements of the states
along the Silk Road in order to boost concrete economic cooperation and increase trade
turnovers among them.
The international conference has brought together parliamentarians from over 10 countries including Mongolia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Italy, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland, and Turkey as well as representatives of international organizations. The participants discussed the possibilities for fostering investment attractiveness, transit transportation, and tourism sector of the participating states. The adoption of the Minsk declaration took place on the first day of the conference.
