Registered unemployed decreases by 1.9 percent in 2018

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At the end of December 2018, the Labor and Social Welfare Services Agencies have registered 36.2 thousand job seekers, of which 25.0 thousand or 69.0 percent were unemployed and remaining 11.2 thousand or 31.0 percent were employed but looking for a new job.


Registered unemployed was decreased by 486 persons or 1.9 percent from the same time of  the previous year but increased by 782 persons or 3.2 percent from the previous month.


A breakdown by gender shows that 13.2 thousand or 53.0 percent were women among total number of registered unemployed.

 

From total registered unemployed at nationwide, 437 or 1.8percent were with disabilities of which 203 or 46.5percent were women.

 

In 2018, the Labor and Social Welfare Services Agencies have recorded 93.5 thousand new job seekers and 25.6 thousand registered persons were hired on a new job. Due to inactive job seeking, 68.4 thousand

persons were removed from the Unemployment Register.

 

Compared to the previous year, the number of new registered unemployed increased by 229 persons or 0.2percent. The number of persons hired on a new job decreased by 2.9 thousand or 10.3percent and the number of persons removed from the Unemployment Register being inactive job seeker decreased by 5.3 thousand or 7.2 percent.
