Women’s Business Center to support women in information and technology

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Within the second phase of the incubator project, Women’s Business Center (WBC) aims to support female entrepreneurs in information and technology sector through increasing access to information and improving their skills and knowledge.

“Since 2012, the Governor’s Office and Mayor’s Office of Ulaanbaatar in cooperation with other departments have successfully implemented projects including the WBC, City Governance, Waste and Climate Change and Increasing Transparency of Civil Service,” said D.Enkhtur, Deputy Governor of Ulaanbaatar in charge of Poverty Reduction and Employment.

Within the WBC’s incubator project, a total of 5,540 women were enrolled in business and personal development training, over 2,100 registered and more than 1,100 involved in networking and experience sharing events. The participants of the accelerated incubator program received loans of over USD 200 million with low interest.

In the second phase of the project, WBC will continue supporting small businesses, providing business training and services. The main objective of the phase is to help women in business improve their IT knowledge and skills, use it effectively in their business and support the startups of IT sector.
