Photo exhibition shows 60 years development of Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Today, veteran photographer L.Sanjmyatav opened his photo exhibition ‘Generations of Ulaanbaatar city’ in the Mongolian Theatre Museum.
 
L.Sanjmyatav has worked as a photographer for 60 years and the exhibition is dedicated to his 80th birthday anniversary. The exhibition displays over 80 photographs in which city life depicted. In 2014, L.Sanjmyatav held his ‘Photographs of city people’ exhibition.
 
Photographer recalled that he took his first photos in 1958 and won the special prize with his photography named ‘Sukh square – Peace square’ from the competition announced by the Peace Road Newspaper (Nairamdliin Zam). Since then he started taking pictures of city and railroads. Moreover, he captured historical moments of political, sports and art events   when he was working at the MONTSAME News Agency.
 
“Ulaanbaatar city has developed rapidly over the past 60 years. One could not find the place that shoot 60 years ago. In this comparative exhibition, viewers are able to see current Ulaanbaatar and Ulaanbaatar city in the 1960s,” L.Sanjmyatav said.
 
The photography exhibition will run until April 24.
