Speaker M.Enkhbold receives Korean National Assembly delegates

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Speaker M.Enkhbold received a delegation led by member of the Korean National Assembly, Chairman of Trade, Industry, Energy, Small and medium-sized enterprises and Startups Committee Jang Byung-wan.

During the meeting, Speaker M.Enkhbold expressed his satisfaction for successfully developing legislative and intergovernmental cooperation between the two countries. He also noted that "Mongolian foreign policy has defined Republic of Korea as its third neighbor. It is important to develop comprehensive partnership relations to the strategic partnership level."

Speaker M.Enkhbold said that the standing committee led by Mr.Jang Byung-wan covers an important economic sectors, therefore he hopes that it will contribute to the development and deepening of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries in the future. He also reminded about the invitation of Speaker of Korean National Assembly to visit Mongolia and said that "I hope that the visit will happen this year."

Mr.Jang Byung-wan noted that as the committee is in charge of economic partnership it will support the cooperation in industry, energy, natural resources usage, transportation and mining sectors. “We know that the government of Mongolia is paying significant attention to reduce air pollution in Ulaanbaatar. The Standing Committee supports the Mongolian government's decision to use the soft loan from Korea for the implementation of such project.” He also mentioned his visit to Nalaikh district, having introduced with Eco housing project and underlined that he will be happy to cooperate for helping 30.000 Nalaikh citizens to acquire new energy technologies.

Mr.Jang Byung-wan emphasized that "Mongolia is rich in natural resources. Korea has good experience in export and investment. Therefore, there is great opportunity to develop mutually beneficial cooperation not only between the two countries but also to collaborate in the regional level."

During the meeting, issues of urbanization, proper utilization of renewable energy in Mongolia, tourism, IT and business development were discussed.
