Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Artist B.Otgontuvden’s ‘March 8’ exhibition dedicated to the International Women’s Day opened at the Art Space 976 Gallery last Friday. The artist recently returned to his homeland after teaching at the St.Petersburg State Academic Institute of Fine Arts, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E.Repin for a while.

B.Otgontuvden is known for his works showing Mongolian life, portraits and historical works, whereas works displayed in this exhibition are minimalistic and give a gentle and relaxing feeling.

He practices realistic romanticism in his works and the art expert Tatyana Troitskaya once wrote about him “As in the past Russian artists adored Italian nature, the artist I’m talking about finds inspiration in the glorious nature of his native country. In other words based on his professional skills he is developing a national art through his paintings. This is the path that he desires and chooses, and we’ll certainly be expecting many amazing works from him and great success.”

The exhibition will be open till March 26.
