Another eagle huntress to be filmed
VideoFourteen Singaporean photographers recently came to Altai soum, Bayan-Ulgii province and shot photos about the lifestyle of eagle hunters and culture of hunting with eagles.
They have visited family of 12-year old eagle huntress A.Aigerim, 7th grade student of the secondary school of Altai soum. Her father started training A.Aigerim in eagle hunting, when she was eight. The photographers will display the photos in international exhibitions. Moreover they agreed with the eagle huntress and her parents to come back next June with a team consisting of 28 people to shoot a documentary about A.Aigerim.
Since the first well-known eagle huntress N. Aisholpan played in the documentary ‘The Eagle Huntress’ in 2013, the number of eagle huntress is increasing in Bayan-Ulgii province. Currently, there are over 10 girls in different soums of the province, who hunt with eagle and compete in eagle hunting festivals.
