Discussion focuses importance of manufacturing final products

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Attendees of a discussion on the mining resource consumption of Mongolia, China and Russia, which took place in frames of the Mongolia-China Expo in Hohhot, considered as necessity to supply to the market final products satisfying needs of consumers instead of only exploiting raw mineral resources.   

During the discussion, Ts.Darshdorj, Mongolian Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry, delivered greetings to the audience.

In his greetings, the Minister says, “Mongolia and China have a long-year tradition of trade, economic and cultural ties. Based on our traditional ties, the 2nd Mongolia-China Expo is well-timed event,”

“Mining industry attaches an important role in the Mongolian economy. It makes up 18 per cent of the country’s total gross domestic product (GDP) and 64% of foreign investments made to Mongolia. Moreover, 86% of  total exports consist of mineral raw materials, of which 97.5%--coal, copper concentrate, molybdenum  concentrate, fluoride, iron ore, zinc ore and crude oil are being exported,” he said.
