Original copy of Constitution placed in Museum of Mongolian Statehood

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On occasion of the 24th anniversary of adoption of the first democratic Constitution of Mongolia, a ceremony took place Monday to place the original copy of this Constitution in the Museum of Mongolian Statehood in the State House.

Present at the ceremony were P.Tsagaan, a head of the Presidential Office; B.Boldbaatar, a secretary-general of the Parliamentary Office; and N.Shirendev, a head of the Parliamentary Office section for administration and common services. B.Boldbaatar said such a ceremony takes places on the anniversary of the Constitution’s anniversary, and that the original copy is available for  all people to see. It is placed for five days within the anniversary, he added.

This ceremony, which is taking place for the third year, has attracted some former members of the People’s Khural and State Conference who were involved in the Constitution’s adoption, said Tsagaan. Political and social reforms and developmental achievements gained in the last 25 years are the evidence of right concept of the Constitution, he said.

The Constitution’s original copy is permanently placed in the Office Room of the President, and a newly elected president of Mongolia takes oath putting his/her hand on it.
