Mongolian artist attends world’s largest Khuumei Festival
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In Kyzyl, the capital city of the Tuva Republic of Russia, “Khoomei in the center of Asia” international festival was held for three days and concluded on August 19. Throat singers from Russia, China, Mongolia, USA, Finland, France and Japan gathered for the festival. Representing Mongolia, artist, head of the World Khuumei Association D.Khosbayar attended the festival.

Mongolian-Russian joint military drill launches
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Mongolian-Russian joint military tactical training “Selenge-2019” started at the training field of the 327th military unit of the military armed forces in Choibalsan city, Dornod aimag. The military exercise, involving more than 1500 military personnel of the two countries, will last until August 27 in Choibalsan city.

Boao Forum for Asia Ulaanbaatar kicks off
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Side events of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) began today on August 19. A mini Naadam festival was organized for the participants and guests of the conference at the Chinggisiin Khuree tourism camp. Opening the festival, Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar, noted that the Naadam Festival, celebrated by the Mongols since time immemorial, is a complex celebration of culture and sports, demonstrating the nomadic traditions and heritage and was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO.

Mongolian peacekeepers conduct long-distant bicycling patrol
A squad consisting three men and two women troops of the Mongolian Armed Forces’ Eighth Moto-Shooting Battalion, who are now serving in the UN-mandated UNMISS operation in South Sudan, conducted their first-ever long-distant bicycling patrol in the route ‘Khubilai’, ‘Eco’, ‘Arvai’ and ‘Delta’ camps.

No meat exports and imports during harvest to ensure stable food supply
This year, a total of 361 thousand ha of land was sown, according to Ch.Ulaan, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry. Crop harvests in Bulgan, Khuvsgul, Orkhon, Arkhangai and Selenge aimags is predicted to be normal. However, in some regions, including Tuv, Darkhan-Uul, Dornod, Khentii, Uvurkhangai and Uvs aimags and northern part Selenge aimag, harvests are likely to decline due to droughts and overheating.
