On June 1, Children’s Day, the Cabinet approved a national program on school food manufacturing and services and gave an order to Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Yo.Baatarbileg to develop plan for the program implementation and take control.

529 residents to own their rented apartments
At its irregular session of June 1, today, cabinet approved a resolution to transfer the ownership of eight apartments in Ulaanbaatar city and Darkhan-uul aimag, which had been conveyed under Mongolia’s ownership from Russia, to their residents free of charge.

Nairamdal – 2 international children’s camp to be built in Khuvsgul aimag
The cabinet at its irregular meeting held today, June 1, Children’s Day, decided to establish “Nairamdal-2” international children’s camp in the Khuvsgul Lake National Park as part of the second phase plan of the Children Development and Protection National Program approved by the government in 2017.

There are around 597 Mongolian Buddhist monks and students living at three monasteries – Gomang, Sera and Jume in the Karnataka state of India, and 357 of them are children aged between 10 and 18.

D.Nyamkhuu, Director of Center for Communicable Diseases announced today at the daily COVID-19 press briefing that the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Mongolia grew to 185 after six more people were tested positive for the virus, yesterday, May 31.

President extends greetings on Children’s Day
June 1 - Children’s Day is celebrated in Mongolia as an official public holiday to honor the children. Each year, various public celebratory activities had been organized, including the “Mongolian Children” large-scale event for children at the central square in Ulaanbaatar city.

Loan agreements signed with South Korea
On May 28, Minister of Finance Ch.Khurelbaatar and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia Lee Yeo-hong signed an exchange of letters on the extension of the General Agreement between the Governments of Mongolia and the Republic of Korea on loan from the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) until the end of 2020.
