Commemorative Stamp Marks the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Mongolia and Germany
January 31, 2024, marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Federal Republic of Germany. To mark this occasion, a commemorative stamp was unveiled under the theme "50 Years of Diplomatic Relations between Mongolia and the Federal Republic of Germany." Advisor on Foreign Policy to the President of Mongolia Odbayar Erdenetsogt conveyed during the opening ceremony that a series of activities will be organized in Ulaanbaatar and Berlin throughout the year as part of the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Federal Republic of Germany, and he underscored that the ceremony, held yesterday, marks the commencement of the anniversary celebrations. In addition, he noted that he is confident that relations and cooperation between the two countries, which share common values such as democracy, human rights, and the rule of law, will expand in the years ahead.

The Grand Prix Portugal 2024 was successfully held in Odivelas, Portugal, from January 26 to 28, 2024. It marked the inaugural tournament of the International Judo Federation and was a highly competitive Grand Prix with a substantial number of participants, particularly significant as it took place in an Olympic year. Ease of Travel Conditions for Mongolian Citizens to the Republic of Korea Discussed
During the Official Visit of the Prime Minister of Mongolia Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai to the Republic of Korea last year, the Prime Minister discussed with the Korean side the issue of easing the conditions for the citizens of Mongolia to travel to the country. The Government of Mongolia approved Resolution No. 166, "On Measures to Facilitate Travel Conditions for Mongolian Citizens to the Republic of Korea." The Prime Minister has been holding regular meetings with relevant ministries and organizations of the Republic of Korea to address visa applications and facilitate travel conditions. As a result, the Korean side has begun providing certain concessions to the conditions for our citizens applying for South Korean visas.

Hay and Salt Placed for Wildlife in Altai Tavanbogd and Great Gobi National Parks
To support the winter survival of Argali, Ibex, and Red Deer in Altai Tavan Bogd National Park and Siilkhem Nuruu National Park, officials from the Administration of the Mongolian Altai Mountains Strictly Protected Area have placed a total of 260 bales of hay and nine tons of salt at eight locations so far.

Compensation for Explosion Losses to be Issued from the Government Reserve Fund
The regular meeting of the Cabinet was held on January 25, 2024, and the following issues were discussed and resolved. Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the State Emergency Commission, S. Amarsaikhan, along with leaders from relevant law enforcement agencies, presented on the fire accident that occurred at 1:06 a.m. on January 24, 2024, at the intersection of "Ikh Mongol" and "Dunjingarav" shopping center, 26th khoroo, Bayanzurkh district of the capital. The impact resulted in a massive fire outbreak and a sequence of explosions, leading to the tragic deaths of three firefighters. A total of 27 people were taken to health facilities, and 13 people received counseling services. 14 people between the ages of 19 and 60 who were burned are currently hospitalized.

Warning Against Driving Over River Ice Issued
Since the beginning of the year, there have been four ice-breaking emergency calls registered. In response to these calls, officers from both central and local emergency organizations have taken swift action, rescuing vehicles and ensuring the safety of nine citizens. For instance, on January 24, 2024, the 45th Fire Extinguishing and Rescue Unit of Kharkhorin soum received a distress call regarding a truck traversing the ice of the Orkhon River in the “Tavan Salaa” area of Nariin Khur bag (subdistrict), Kharkhorin soum, Uvurkhangai aimag. The officers promptly intervened and successfully retrieved the “Hyundai Porter” truck.

Gangwon 2024: Mongolian Young Athletes Participate in the Winter Olympics
The 4th Winter Youth Olympics opened in Gangwon, South Korea, and the medal winners are beginning to be announce. In these Olympics, 12 athletes from our country are competing in three sports, setting a record. In the previous three Olympics, a maximum of six athletes competed against youngsters from five continents. This time, 12 athletes competed, indicating the improving success and skills of our youth. For the first time from Mongolia, Kh. Khaliun, who earned the right to participate in the Youth Winter Olympics in alpine skiing, made history by showcasing her speed in this category. Among the 78 athletes who competed in the giant slalom, 24 made mistakes and failed to achieve success. Our athlete Kh. Khaliun, participating in alpine skiing for the first time, completed both races without any losses and secured the 42nd place with a time of 2:36.23 minutes. Athletes from Italy, Switzerland, and Sweden stood on the podium in this category.
