Tree Planting on the 75th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between Mongolia and the DPRK

Two Ministers Newly Appointed
Yesterday, Member of Parliament Delgersaikhan Borkhuu was appointed as a Cabinet Member and Chair of the National Committee on the Reduction of Traffic Congestion in Ulaanbaatar and Member of Parliament Enkhbayar Battumur as Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs, getting approval from the State Great Khural.

ADB Approves USD 100 Million Loan to Strengthen Mongolia’s Fiscal, Financial, and Economic Resilience
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a USD100 million loan to strengthen Mongolia’s fiscal, financial, and economic resilience. The program supports tax revenue growth through structural improvements in domestic tax administration and increased alignment with international tax treaties around profit shifting and the automatic exchange of information.

Final Stage Contract of Oil Refinery Plant Signed
The construction of the first Oil Refinery Plant of Mongolia with a capacity to process 1.5 million tons of crude oil per year is progressing in Altanshireet soum of Dornogobi aimag. The project is financed by a USD 1.2 billion soft loan from the Government of India.

Boosting Tourism While Conserving Nature
Lake Khuvsgul is the largest freshwater lake in Mongolia by volume and second largest by area. Being the most pristine with high water clarity (Secchi depths > 18 m are common) the Lake Khuvsgul is one of the most important in the world and the most significant drinking water reserve of Mongolia, containing 70 percent of the country’s fresh water and 1 percent of all fresh water in the world. A vast expanse of stunning snow-capped mountains and forests surrounding Khuvsgul Lake attracts people, making the area one of the most popular tourist destinations in Mongolia.
