Agreement on Indian government loan to be submitted for immediate parliamentary discussion
The cabinet discussed the bill of ratification of General Agreement on Credit Line of USD 1.0 billion between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of the Republic of India, and resolved to recommend the parliament to run immediate discussion on this matter.

Cabinet approves revised law on public opinion polling
During its regular meeting on May 10, Wednesday, the Cabinet discussed and approved a draft revision to Law on Public Opinion Polling. The draft bill will be submitted to Parliament, reflecting the suggestions made by Cabinet members.

Cabinet approves draft agreements on infrastructure development
During its regular meeting on May 10, Wednesday, the Cabinet discussed and approved draft special loan agreements on projects ‘Construction of steel-concrete bridges on Tuul River in Bayanzurkh and Sonsgolon’ and ‘Construction of Ulaanbaatar-Mandalgobi electricity transmission network and electrical substation’ to be established by the Ministry of Finance and Chinese Export-Import Bank.

Justice Minister visits Inner Mongolia
Member of Parliament and Minister of Justice and Home Affairs S.Byambatsogt has paid a visit to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of People’s Republic of China. The Minister visited the Headquarter of Public Security Department in Hohhot city, its General office of Network Security, General Office of Science and Technique Information and Customs Office of Police Department of Hohhot city.

MCC compact under preparation for approval in 2018
A delegation from the U.S. government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) visited Mongolia on May 08-09 and discussed with Mongolian relevant officials on progress in developing an MCC compact with the government of Mongolia to prepare for approval in 2018. During their visit, the U.S. delegation led by Fatema Z. Sumar, Regional Deputy Vice President for Europe, Asia, the Pacific, and Latin America, met with senior Mongolian government officials – including Minister of Foreign Affairs Ts.Munkh-Orgil, Minister of Environment and Tourism D.Oyunkhorol, Deputy Minister of Finance Kh.Bulgantuya, and Ulaanbaatar City Mayor S. Batbold.

National disaster risk reduction council to be established
Policy discussion under the theme ‘Reform of Disaster Risk Management System of Mongolia’ took place under the auspices of the Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia in the State House on May 9. In his speech at the discussion, Deputy  PM U.Khurelsukh pointed out that “In accordance with the revised law on disaster protection, today's event is aimed at renovating disaster risk management system and discussing relevant issues at a policy level”. "Our primary goal is to pay attention to ensure sustainable development of Mongolia by preventing any disasters and accidents, eliminating possible damages and loss based on the UN recommendations".

Asian Bio-Safety Committee convenes in Ulaanbaatar
The Second Consultative Meeting of the Asian countries’ unofficial committee on “Forwarding Biological Safety Mechanism” is taking place in Ulaanbaatar on May 10-12. The meeting is jointly organized by the Government of Mongolia and the Secretariat of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety to the Convention on Biological Diversity.

International choir festival euphoniously parades in Ulaanbaatar
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the origination of choral songs in Mongolia, “Ulaanbaatar Spring 2017” international choir festival is taking place between May 10 and 12 in Ulaanbaatar. Over thousand singers of 24 bands, including the artists of Mongolian professional music organizations such as State Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet, Mongolian Military Song and Dance Academic Ensemble, Border Song and Dance Academic Ensemble, Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture and Music and Dance College of Mongolia, along with student choirs of P.I. Tchaikovsky College of Arts and artists from Inner Mongolia, China and Republic of Korea are participating in the festival.

High tech pavement binder to be applied in road repair
'Smart Ulaanbaatar' sub-commission has decided to use high tech pavement binders or Nano Bitumen for repairing roads of the capital. Nano bitumen has several advantages, such as highly viscous to all kinds of materials, applicable in any weather conditions, particularly extreme conditions and easy to use.   High tech pavement binders is 50-60 per cent cheaper than traditional technology and help to take shorter time in repair works and allows traffic movement as soon as the repair is completed.

Comprehensively-utilized rest-stops to be built in Terelj
Ministry of Environment and Tourism have come up with an initiative to build an international-standard resort at the Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, in the scope of an objective to “promote environmentally friendly parking areas and service centers adjacent to main tourist attractions”.

Justice Minister S.Byambatsogt meets Minister of Public Security of China
During his working visit to People's Republic of China, MP S.Byambatsogt, Minister of Justice and Home Affairs met with Guo Shengkun, Minister of Public Security of China on May 9 and signed the action program of cooperation between the Ministries. The program, which covers the period 2017-2022, creates an opportunity to develop legal environments required for initiating cooperation in law enforcement sector and establish transboundary anti-crime ties.

Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister wraps his visit to Mongolia
“Turkey can share its experience on infrastructure development with Mongolia. There could also be mutual interests in cooperation in mining sector. The two countries must work together in agriculture and tourism. Mongolia and Mexico sign document for cultural and humanitarian cooperation
On May 3, B.Altangerel, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the United Mexican States and Dr. Martha Navarro-Albo, Director General for Scientific and Technical Cooperation of the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation signed an intergovernmental program between Mongolia and Mexico on cooperation in the fields of education, art, culture, physical training, sports and youth development in 2017-2020.
