Ulaanbaatar, November 20, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Minister of Foreign Affairs Battsetseg Batmunkh received Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Kim Jina, who is in Ulaanbaatar to attend the Ninth Mongolia-Korea Joint Committee Meeting on November 19, 2025.

Minister Battsetseg conveyed greetings on the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations and underlined that cooperation with the Republic of Korea, Mongolia’s Strategic Partner, has continued to deepen not only bilaterally but also on regional and international levels.

She noted the global popularity of the Korean-produced program “Physical: Asia,” which has attracted young audiences across Asia and beyond, and highlighted the strong performance of the Mongolian team. The Minister said that the program has made a meaningful contribution to promoting Mongolia’s image internationally.

The Minister also emphasized the sharp increase in people-to-people travel between the two countries, stating that the time has come to take substantial steps to ease travel conditions and, in the long term, move toward mutual visa-free travel. She requested particular attention to exempting patients traveling for medical purposes from visa requirements on humanitarian grounds.

Vice Minister Kim Jina noted that Korea sees broad potential for mutually beneficial cooperation with Mongolia, a country with significant mineral resources, particularly in rare earth elements, supply chains, and AI. She expressed the ROK’s readiness to work jointly to enhance the effectiveness of Korea’s official development assistance projects in Mongolia, expand trade and economic cooperation, and support increased exchanges between the two peoples, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia reported.
