Study on inscribing deer stone complex site in World Heritage List ongoing
A preliminary study on inscribing cultural complex site with deer stones at Uushgiin Uvur in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List is being conducted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports, the Mongolian National Commission for the UNESCO, Foundation for the Protection of Natural and Cultural Heritage NGO, Institute of History and Archaeology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences in cooperation with Khuvsgul aimag.

First dual registration approved
On May 23, at the meeting of the Financial Regulatory Commission the request from Erdene Resource Development Corp. (TSX:ERD) for dual registration of shares on Mongolian Stock Exchange was approved. The company listed on Toronto Stock Exchange requested to register 4 million shares worth of CAD 1.2 million.

Students learning waste management
With aims to promote benefit of sorting and recycling waste to the 8th grade students of the secondary schools and to make them have good habit, a regular training was held by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism in cooperation with the Fresh Water Resources and Nature Conservation Center, the Khangarid Rotary Club and Australian KESAB Environmental Solutions NGO on May 23.

Reforming higher education to increase Mongolia’s competitiveness
There are more than 130 thousand students acquiring higher education in over 97 institutes in Mongolia.  However, there is a number of existing problems in the higher education subsector, leading to low competitiveness and employment rates among university graduates.    To increase the number of Mongolia’s globally competitive higher education graduates responsive to labor market demands, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Sports (MECSS) is realizing the Higher Education Reform Project (HERP) in 2012-2019, with financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The total fund of the project is USD 20 million, 10 percent of which is contributed by the Government of Mongolia. The project outcome will be an improved, well-managed, equitable higher education system.
