Fitch upgrades Mongolia to 'B'
On July 9, the Fitch Ratings has upgraded Mongolia's Long-Term Foreign-Currency Issuer Default Rating (IDR) to 'B' from 'B-'. The Outlook is stable. The upgrade of Mongolia's IDR reflects ongoing improvements to fiscal and external metrics and progress in meeting key IMF programme targets.

Working group on Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi stock trading established
A working group was established in connection with stock trading of up to 30 percent of total shares of Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi JSC at domestic and foreign stock exchanges. Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry D.Sumiyabazar will lead the working group.

‘Tavan Tolgoi Railway’ company established
During the Cabinet’s regular meeting on July 9, it was decided to establish the Tavan Tolgoi Railway company with at least 51 percent of state ownership. The license and investment for construction of the Tavantolgoi-Gashuunsukhait route railway will be transferred from the ‘Mongolian Railway’ to the newly established company.
