Cooperation documents signed between Mongolia and Russia
On 1 June, several documents on bilateral cooperation between Mongolia and the Russian Federation were signed within the framework of the St.Petersburg International Economic Forum, in which Prime Minister of Mongolia J.Erdenebat is participating.

Cross-border cooperation to be further developed with Buryatia
Prime Minister J.Erdenebat, who is attending the St.Petersburg International Economic Forum in Saint Petersburg, received acting Head and Chairman of Government of Republic of Buryatia of Russia A.S.Tsydenov on June 1. During the meeting, the parties talked about development of cross-border cooperation, trade and investment relations of the two countries and influencing factors to them.

ADB begins new Mongolia partnership with USD 250 million to avert crisis in social services and banking sector
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) Board of Directors has endorsed a new Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) for Mongolia, which envisages total assistance of USD1.2 billion over the 2017-2020 period, and also approved two policy-based loans (PBLs) totaling USD250 million to start implementation of the new CPS. The loans will help maintain funding for social welfare programs for the poor and vulnerable people and stabilize and restructure the banking industry during the implementation of an extended fund facility of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) approved on 24 May.

Construction of Mongolia's largest flyover starts in Ulaanbaatar
The construction of the largest flyover in Ulaanbaatar city launched today May 31, where a foundation stone laying ceremony of the construction was held. The project has 6 component parts. The main flyover between the Olympics Street and Ikh Mongol Uls Street, passing over Narnii zam (Sun road) and 406th railway crossing will be 470-meter long and 16.5-meter wide, with 4 lanes. Three sub-bridges will be constructed connecting the main flyover with Narnii Zam. The biggest sub-bridge and auto road to the south will be 637-meter long 7.5-meter wide with 2 lanes, while the other two will have a length of 170-meter and 270-meter and width of 7.5-meter and 8.5-meter with one lane each.

Cooperation agreement with Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs renewed after 16 years
Today, May 31, a revised agreement for cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs of Mongolia and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia was signed by the Ministers, revising the agreement after 16 years.

Cashmere price falls
Cashmere price has dropped compared to the beginning of this month at the Agricultural Commodities' Exchange. Today, unprocessed white cashmere of 27500 kg and dark/brown cashmere of 19160 kg were sold at the exchange for MNT70888-72411. Cashmere price was MNT84000 at the beginning of the month. Sheep wool price was MNT1220-1300.

Preparation works to start some major projects completed
Within the implementation of the Government action plan in 2016-2020, preparation works for starting projects of Tavantolgoi, Gatsuurt and Bagakhangai power plant have completed, said Finance Minister B.Choijilsuren. Today, Budgetary standing committee of Parliament held the first hearing of Parliamentary resolution draft on adaptation of Basic guidelines of social and economic development of Mongolia in 2018. The Finance Minister and other officials answered questions of parliament members during the discussion.

Over 14000 citizens allocated land ownership in Arkhangai
Law on allocation of land to Mongolian citizens for ownership has been realized since 2003 and a total of 14814 citizens of Arkhangai have been granted with land ownership for 1262.49 ha of land in total until now. Among them, 14774 citizens have owned 1244.53 ha of land free of charge for family need, 40 citizens have bought 17.57 ha of land for business use and around 0.11 ha of land, which exceeds land size limit to be owned free of charge, was allocated to the users for ownership at a fixed price.

Arslan Rinchin awarded Sasakawa Health Prize
Scientist from Mongolia Arslan Rinchin has been awarded the Sasakawa Health Prize according to a decision of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization (WHO). Mongolian Minister of Health A.Tsogtsetseg accepted the award, on behalf of R.Arslan, during the 70th World Health Assembly.

Marmot statue made of hunting traps erected against poaching
A statue of marmots, made of hunting traps was erected in Bayan-Uul soum of Dornod aimag. Mongolia’s Network of Managed Resource Protected Areas with MON/13/303 project is being implemented by the UN Development Program and the Ministry of Environment and Tourism. The project implementors jointly with the Department of Specially Protected Areas Administration initiated and financed to construct the monument with an aim to inspire people to conserve marmots and their habitat to raise the population and stop illegal hunting.

National currency rate strengthened amid foreign exchange reserves increase
Mongolian national currency rate against US dollar has been tightened in the last several days. According to the Bank of Mongolia, today, May 29, buy rate of one USD equals to MNT2395, and sell rate equals to MNT2406.50 on the interbank foreign exchange platform.  A few days ago, for example on May 25, buy rate was MNT2405 and sell rate was MNT2411.

First ever project to target financial consumer protection underway
The Asian Development Bank established a memorandum of understanding with Bank of Mongolia on realizing financial consumer protection sub-component of Supporting Financial sector development and stability of Mongolia project. Within the project, a study on financial consumer protection was carried-out and a recommendation was released.

Uvurkhangai aimag to establish meat factory jointly with Chinese and US companies
Uvurkhangai aimag is going to establish a meat processing factory jointly with Hai Chuan Group of Guizhou province, China and Jarves Mongolia Company of USA. During Prime Minister J.Erdnebat's visit to China, Governor of Uvurkhangai aimag G.Ganbold signed a memorandum with the parties on establishing the factory and supplying its product to international markets. Governor G.Ganbold was interviewed on the matter.

Mongolia-Kuwait intergovernmental commission holds its first meeting
The first meeting of the Intergovernmental commission between Mongolia and Kuwait was held on 23-24 May in Kuwait city. Mongolian delegation headed by Head of Cabinet Secretariat J.Munkhbat took part in the meeting, where talks, touching on the development of economic cooperation between the two countries, issues on investment and nonrefundable aid, implementation of joint projects and developing cooperation in cultural and media sector, were held.
