Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On June 22, yesterday evening, the National Police Agency reported that a video record on the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP) candidate for the Presidential Election S.Ganbaatar’s receipt of donation from a South Korean citizen, was proven to be real; not a fabrication or montage.

The site, where the video record had been made, was revealed to be S.Ganbaatar’s home. As the voice on the record had been confirmed S.Ganbaatar’s own voice, the case was transferred to the Primary criminal court of Bayanzurkh District, stated the police.  According to Unified Law on Elections, donation to an election candidate from foreign citizen, legal body or entity is prohibited.

The video record, showing how S.Ganbaatar receives donation from a South Korean citizen was spread out on social networks and ‘Society to protect local electors right’ NGO, and ‘Union of MPRP members and supporters’ put a request to the General Election Commission to check the fact.

Moreover, a citizen of South Korea Yu Wan Su also submitted an application to GEC noting that “I acknowledge and apologize for that I gave KRW50 million as a donation to the MPRP candidate S.Ganbaatar. I want this issue is examined”. GEC had forwarded the complaints to the National Police Agency.

If the court affirms the police’s accusation, then candidate S.Ganbaatar would be ineligible to compete in the election on 26 June.
