Ulaanbaatar, 2025 October 15, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The “So” District of Daejeon City in the Republic of Korea and Khuvsgul aimag in northern Mongolia established a partnership in 2011, which has since fostered friendly cooperation through student exchange programs, cultural performances, medical outreach, and tourism development.

Daejeon City hosts the annual Healing Art Festival, a cultural event that promotes international friendship and artistic exchange. The Festival serves as a vibrant platform to showcase Mongolian heritage, featuring artists from Khuvsgul aimag. This year, a delegation of artists led by Purevdorj Dashdorj, Chairman of the Citizens’ Representative Khural of Khuvsgul aimag, participated in the “Healing Art Festival” held in the So District of Daejeon City.

The event highlighted Mongolian cultural tradition through various performances, including traditional dance, folk song, and morin khuur (horse-head fiddle) music. In response to enthusiastic audience acclaim, the artists delivered multiple encore performances during the festival.

Beyond cultural collaboration, the partnership has also extended to the health sector. Over 1,700 citizens have received medical treatment and examinations, supported by donations of medicines, equipment, and professional training programs.

In the next phase of cooperation, both sides are aiming to renew their friendly relations and expand collaboration across a wide range of sectors.
