Quality and accessibility of distance learning classes to be improved with UNICEF

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Deputy Governor of the Capital City in charge of social development issues Sh.Ankhmaa met with UNICEF Representative in Mongolia Alex Heikens to discuss the projects jointly being implemented by the Ulaanbaatar city government and UNICEF as well as the measures against COVID-19 spread.
UNICEF Mongolia took a number of actions amid the ongoing
heightened state of readiness such as promoting COVID-19 prevention messages on
social media, providing health workers with necessary equipment and protective tools,
providing assistance in organizing TV classes, and assessing the situation of
vulnerable children and delivering assistance to them.
Commending the organization’s activities, Ms. Sh.Ankhmaa showed
willingness to cooperate in improving the preparedness of health care personnel
and facilities in every district, carrying out a study to enhance the preparedness
of educational institutions in Ulaanbaatar, assessing TV classes, making
recommendations, and bringing the 'Smog-Free Bayankhongor' initiative to
Ulaanbaatar.
Expressing full support for the proposals, UNICEF representative Alex Heikens undertook to expand cooperation between the two sides in education and health sectors.
