Cabinet meeting news in brief

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At its regular meeting on December 11,
the Cabinet made the following decisions:
- It approved the draft agreement on defense cooperation between
the Governments of Mongolia and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and decided
to consult with the corresponding standing committee over the agreement.
- The cabinet decided to present the 2019 Technological Advancement
Award to Academician B.Byambaa for his work ‘Advanced technology for curing and
preventing parasitic diseases of livestock’ and permitted Minister of Education,
Culture, Science and Technology Yo.Baatarbileg to take out MNT 100 million from
the Science and Technology Fund for the prize.
- In 2020, the Armed Forces of Mongolia will have its officers
participate in peacekeeping and other international military operations in the
Republic of South Sudan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Mongolian officers are serving in peacekeeping operations in seven countries at present.
- The 800th
anniversary of the establishment of the ancient Mongolian city of Karakorum will
be celebrated next year. Head of the Cabinet Secretariat L.Oyun-Erdene was
appointed as chairperson of the anniversary celebration committee.
