Minister of Health receives Ambassador of Japan to Mongolia Masato Takaoka

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On October 24, Minister of Health D.Sarangerel received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Masato Takaoka in correlation with the completion of his mission.
At the start of the meeting, Minister D.Sarangerel thanked the Ambassador for putting efforts into implementing the construction project of the Mongolia-Japan Teaching Hospital that will contribute to the development of the health sector of Mongolia as well as a large amount of small and medium-scale projects through JICA during his diplomatic mission in Mongolia. She continued on to highlight that with the teaching hospital that serves as a symbol of the friendly relations and partnership between Mongolia and Japan, put into operation, highly significant contribution has been made into enhancing the quality and accessibility of health care services for citizens.
Noting that the Mongolia-Japan Teaching Hospital is significantly contributing to the quality and accessibility of health care services in Bayanzurkh district as most of the over 12,000 citizens, that have received health care services at the hospital since its opening on October 1, were from the district, Ambassador Masato Takaoka highlighted that many works in correlation with putting the teaching hospital into operation were done in partnership with the Ministry of Health.
The Ambassador then noted the consistent support from Mongolian citizens during the aftermath of natural disasters, such as earthquakes and typhoons, and expressed his satisfaction with the completion of the immediate repairs needed at the National Cancer Center of Mongolia due to heavy rainfall during the summer of 2018 in the framework of the Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security project, making a certain contribution and assisting in keeping the hospital’s operations stable.
During the meeting, the sides held a further discussion on the aforementioned projects as well as many others. In recognition of his great contribution to the development of the health sector and in protecting the health of citizens, Minister D.Sarangerel awarded Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Masato Takaoka with the Honorary Medal of the Ministry of Health, and wished success in his future endeavors.
