International technical guidance introduced
Society
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ An event to introduce the Mongolian version of the International technical guidance on sexuality education was held on September 30 organized by the United Nations Population Fund, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO in collaboration with the United Nations Children's Fund, World Health Organization, and Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports of Mongolia.
The organizers
expect that the introduction will help broadly promote comprehensive sexuality
education, intensify the key stakeholders' activities, strengthen the current sexuality
education program and develop out-of-school comprehensive sexuality education
strategies. The guidance provides comprehensive sexuality education in line
with physical and mental characteristics of teenagers and young people, opening
up an opportunity to assist them in making responsible choices concerning
sexuality issues.
The event
brought together over 100 individuals including decision makers, education
sector authorities, and representatives from civil society.
