Mongolian Academy of Sciences to partner with Ural Federal University in social sciences

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Representatives of the Ural Federal University (UrFU) of Russia visited the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS) on September 4. Within the partnership between MAS and UrFU since 2017, scholars of the university have mostly worked with the Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics of the academy on joint research. During the joint expedition conducted in the Gobi region, the scholars found an item that is speculated to be a meteorite fragment, which is currently being kept at the Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics.
During the meeting, MAS President D.Regdel and Director of UrFU Victor Koksharov signed the partnership plan for 2019-2020. The scholars of the university expressed their wish to widen the range of partnership by collaborating with the institutes of social science in 2019.
The current provisional plan has included the continuation of the Gobi expedition and further studies on findings, work on comprehensive technology on using Mongolian coal in creating a standard product manufactured for the uses of energy and construction, jointly applying for research project competitions in the technical and social science sectors as well as organizing a student exchange programme for Mongolian and Russian students in the research scene.
