Nuclear Energy Commission to partner with EU in radiation safety

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Nuclear Energy Commission of Mongolia (NEC) is currently implementing the project, ‘Regulatory regime for nuclear safety and enhancing radiation safety and nuclear safeguards in Mongolia’ (MN3.01/12), in cooperation with the European Union.
In the frameworks of the project, senior inspectors of the General Authority for Specialized Inspection, corresponding officials of the NEC and project analysts of RISKAUDIT IRSN/GRS International became acquainted with the environment, where the irradiator type RHM Gamma-20 is stored at the Institute of Physics and Technology and measured the radiation. Afterwards, they discussed ways to improve safety.
