Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A national consultative meeting on UNESCO project 'Heritage in a Box’ will be held next week in Ulaanbaatar.
The consultative meeting will be co-organized by the Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO and the UNESCO Office in Beijing on April 4.
The ‘Heritage in a Box’ toolkit is an adapted version of UNESCO’s World Heritage in Young Hands Resource Kit project for Mongolia. The UNESCO Office in Beijing introduced the toolkit in 2016 in seven local schools located in Orkhon Valley, one of the World Heritage sites in Mongolia, engaging more than 2,000 pupils.
Based on the successful pilot study, UNESCO plans to carry-out the project nationwide. The project aims to strengthen heritage education on the national level.
The approaching meeting will be attended by government officials, experts and representatives of civil society organizations and address practical lessons, financial opportunities, strategic partnership, management, coordination, assessment and challenges during the pilot.
