Ulaanbaatar, November 6, 2025 /MONTSAME/. President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa is actively collaborating with domestic manufacturing enterprises as part of the nationwide “Food Supply and Security” initiative, including a recent visit to Monos Food JSC.
President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa was welcomed by Board Members Khurelbaatar Luvsan and Solongo Khurelbaatar, as well as Executive Director Otgondari Agvaandorj. The company’s leadership briefed the President on their current operations and development achievements under the “Food Supply and Security” program. The management of Monos Food JSC expressed appreciation for the national movement, emphasizing its role in helping enterprises expand production capacity, adopt advanced technologies, and create new jobs.
Established in 2012, Monos Food JSC has built a strong reputation in Mongolia’s food industry by specializing in the production and sale of health-focused food products. Over the years, the company has steadily expanded its operations, now offering 72 distinct product types and employing over 280 staff. With a shareholder base exceeding 16,000, Monos Food stands as a model of inclusive growth and corporate transparency.
Strategic Expansion Projects at Monos Food
In 2019, Monos Food JSC became the first joint-stock company within the Monos Group following its initial public offering (IPO), a defining milestone in its corporate evolution. Capitalizing on this momentum, the company launched a series of strategic development initiatives to expand and modernize its production infrastructure. The “MFC 1.0” project laid the groundwork through foundational upgrades, including increased production capacity, diversified product lines, and enhanced operational efficiency. Building on this success, the “MFC 2.0” project was introduced as a large-scale expansion effort, designed to shape the company’s long-term trajectory and elevate its role to the next stage of growth.
Operational Impact of the "Food
Supply and Security" National Movement
Supported by the national "Food Supply and Security" movement, also known as the Food Revolution, Monos Food JSC secured MNT 30 billion in investment and working capital loans, which enabled a series of transformative upgrades to accelerate its growth and enhance operational efficiency. The company commissioned a new factory equipped with advanced technology, expanded its existing food warehouse, initiated construction of a new facility in eastern Ulaanbaatar, and upgraded its fruit puree production line for children. These strategic developments resulted in a threefold increase in production capacity, a 96 percent rise in physical output, and a 68 percent boost in sales revenue, reaching MNT 19 billion compared to 2022.
Social Responsibility and Sustainability
Leadership
Beyond its operational achievements, Monos Food JSC has made significant strides in social and environmental impact. Employee salaries increased by 50 percent, and the company expanded its workforce by 20 percent, reflecting its commitment to equitable growth and job creation.
On the sustainability front, Monos
Food reduced the weight of plastic packaging for its “Ekos” brand products by
30 percent, eliminating approximately 172 tonnes of plastic waste annually.
Further demonstrating its dedication to environmental stewardship, the company
actively participated in the “Billions of Trees” national movement by establishing
the “MFC Grove,” planting 1,000 trees, and cultivating over 700 more on its own
premises.
Inclusive Infrastructure for
Child Wellbeing
As part of its commitment to child
health and well-being, Monos Food JSC has fully renovated and donated
specialized treatment rooms for children with special needs at three major
institutions: the National Center for Maternal and Child Health, the National
Center for Traumatology and Deformity, and the National Center for Infectious
Diseases. These enhancements have created a psychologically supportive and
child-friendly environment, benefiting between 2,000 and 13,000 children and
their caregivers each year.
National Initiatives Drive Economic
and Employment Growth
President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa expressed his appreciation to the enterprises and wealth creators driving the “Food Supply and Security,” acknowledging their essential contributions to expanding production, generating employment, and fulfilling tax obligations. In the framework of the “Food Supply and Security” national movement, over 3,000 enterprises have accessed long-term, low-interest loans totaling MNT 1.2 trillion.
Complementing this effort, the “White Gold” program has provided businesses with tax exemptions and interest rate subsidies exceeding MNT 300 billion. These initiatives have catalyzed the launch of 53 new factories and the creation of 44,000 jobs within a single year, reflecting a key accomplishment in Mongolia’s industrial and economic development.
