Government Discloses over 500 Contracts Related to Erdenes Tavantolgoi JSC

At the regular session of the Cabinet of Mongolia on November 5, 2025, 581 contracts related to the operations of Erdenes Tavantolgoi JSC have been made public, said Chief Cabinet Secretary Byambatsogt Sandag at a press briefing held at the State Palace of Mongolia.
He noted that the company has been engaged in coal mining operations for the past 15 years. “During this period, public suspicions have persisted regarding alleged coal theft. Therefore, we are disclosing coal purchase and sales contracts concluded with individuals and enterprises since 2010.
In total, the company has signed 586 contracts, of which 581 are being made public and will be published on its official website. The remaining five contracts will be disclosed once agreements with the relevant parties are finalized,” he said. The Chief Cabinet Secretary added that, under the Prime Minister's direction, the company will be transformed into a public joint-stock company. To this end, an international audit firm will be selected through an open tender to audit the company’s operations over the past three years.
Over the last 15 years, the company has extracted 176 million tonnes of coal, sold 166 million tonnes, generated MNT 37 trillion in revenue, and paid MNT 10.8 trillion in taxes and fees, he said.
