Mongolia, Cuba to cooperate in communicable and non-communicable disease control and prevention

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Minister of Health S. Enkhbold received
Ambassador of Cuba in Mongolia Jorge Ferrer on March 15.
The Ambassador expressed an interest in introducing and
sharing Cuban advancements in medicine, especially biotechnology, in the
Mongolian health sector, and put forth some suggestions. He also briefed on the
Cuban government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and provided some
information about vaccines developed by Cuba’s biotechnological companies.
The two sides reaffirmed commitment to work together in the
areas reflected in the Memorandum of Understanding signed in April between the
Ministries of Health of the two countries.
Under the MoU, the two Ministries of Health agreed to
cooperate in the areas of communicable and non-communicable disease control,
prevention, medicine, pharmacy, biotechnology research, and primary health
care.
