National currency in circulation reaches MNT 1.1 trillion

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. According to the preliminary results,
the national currency in circulation reached MNT 1.1 trillion at the end of
December 2021, increased by MNT 20.3 billion (1.9 percent) from the previous
month, and increased by MNT 114.1 billion (11.5 percent) from the same period
of the previous year.
At the end of December 2021, the time deposit in domestic
currency amounted to MNT 15.0 trillion, increased by MNT 176.2 billion (1.2
percent) from the previous month, and increased by MNT 1.6 trillion (11.9
percent) from the same period of the previous year. In terms of the type of
time deposit in domestic currency, 88.9 percent (MNT 13.3 trillion) was
individuals’ deposits and 11.1 percent (MNT 1.7 trillion) was deposits of
enterprises.
The time deposits in foreign currency amounted to MNT 4.0
trillion, increased by MNT 40.2 billion (1.0 percent) from the previous month,
and decreased by MNT 668.6 billion (14.4 percent) from the same period of the
previous year.
