Considering the situation, the MFALI has decided to deliver hay and fodder to herders of these aimags within this month.

Specifically, the MFALI is collaborating with other ministries and relevant organizations to deliver hay and fodder assistance to herders of the aimags and herders wintering in transhumant areas, beginning next week or January 11, reported D. Batmunkh, head of the MFALI Department for Animal Husbandry Policy and Implementation Coordination.

The Government had decided to provide 3,800 tons of hay free of charge and 1,900 tons of fodder with 50 percent discount from the state reserve to more than 40,000 herder households in the aimags experiencing severe wintering.

Moreover, assistance worth USD5 million being provided by World Bank’s Livestock Commercialization Project will be distributed to herders of the above aimags within this month.
