Economic stimulus package to limit COVID-19 impact to be submitted to Parliament

Banks fulfilled loan payment deferral requests totaling MNT 446 billion
The central bank of Mongolia gave an information on the difficulties borrowers are experiencing on meeting their loan repayments due to the impacts of COVID-19. Around 26 thousand borrowers with total debts of MNT 2.5 trillion have been struggling to make loan payments due to the pandemic, report the Bank of Mongolia.

6-month exemption approved for self-employers’ social insurance contributions
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On March 27, Friday, the government of Mongolian passed a set of measures to ease economic impact by the coronavirus pandemic. The measures contain an exemption of employers’ social insurance contributions by private enterprises and companies and of personal income tax for six months, effective from April 1.

Coal export through Shiveekhuren port resumed
From today, Mongolia has resumed coal export through Shiveekhuren border port in Gurvantes soum of Umnugobi aimag. Gashuunsukhait port, which was halted for two months due to Covid-19 prevention, was re-opened on March 23 to restore coal export.
