Mining and quarrying gross output decreased by MNT 1.3 trillion
 According to the preliminary results, the gross industrial output reached MNT 4.1 trillion in the first four months of 2020, showing a decrease of MNT 1.3 trillion (24.1%) from the same period of the previous year. This decrease was mainly due to the decrease in mining and quarrying gross output by MNT 1.3 trillion (33.0%) and manufacturing output by MNT 65.1 billion (6.5%), respectively.

Credit repayments to commercial banks decreased by 53.5 percent
At the end of April 2020, the total amount of outstanding loan to entities and individuals amounted to MNT 17.2 trillion, increased by MNT 7.6 billion (0.04%) from the previous month, but decreased by MNT 514.5 billion (2.9%) from the same period of the previous year. In the total outstanding loans, MNT 8.7 trillion (50.9%) was individual loans.

BoM purchases 1.4 tons of precious metal in April
In April 2020, the precious metal purchase of the Bank of Mongolia (BoM) was 1.4 tons, increasing the BoM’s total precious metal purchase of 2020 to 6.7 tons, of which 5 tons were gold and 1.7 tons were silver. It means the amount of precious metal purchase increased by three times compared with the same period of previous year.
