Finance Minister holds online meetings

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On May 13, Minister of Finance
Ch.Khurelbaatar held an online meeting with Vice President of the European Bank
for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Alain Pilloux, EBRD Managing Director
for Central Asia André Küüsvek, and EBRD Head of Mongolia, Irina
Kravchenko.
The sides exchanged views on Mongolia’s Covid-19
economic measures and the projects being jointly carried out by Mongolia and
the bank. EBRD voiced its readiness to carry on with the projects it has agreed
to implement with Mongolia and cooperate with the country’s private sector even during
the Covid-19 pandemic.
Minister Ch.Khurelbaatar held an online conference with an International Monetary Fund (IMF) team led by Mr. Geoff Gottlieb, discussing the economic impacts of the Covid-19 and the packages of economic measures announced by the Government of Mongolia. IMF has decided to assist its members to fight Covid-19 and revive their economies under the Rapid Financing Instrument program. The sides therefore talked in depth about the program’s implementation in Mongolia and actions to take.
