Parliament Speaker participates in ASEM13

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The
13th Summit of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM13) was held on November 25-26 under
the theme ‘Strengthening Multilateralism for Shared Growth’.
Heads of state and government of
51 countries, and representatives of the European Union and the Association of
Southeast Asian Nations attended the 13th summit hosted by the Kingdom of Cambodia to
discuss a wide range of issues related to regional and international cooperation.
Speaker of the State Great
Khural of Mongolia G.Zandanshatar took part in the first plenary session of the summit. In his remarks on climate change, Speaker G.Zandanshatar stressed the
importance of ASEM in not only bringing Asia and Europe closer, but also in
supporting regional and global prosperity and security and called on highly
developed Asian and European countries to provide increased support to the climate
efforts of low and middle income countries.
Mongolia joined ASEM during
its 6th summit in Helsinki in 2006.
