“Morin Khuur” Play Named Best at Baikal Mascot International Theater Festival

Ulaanbaatar, June 13, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The play titled "Morin Khuur" has been awarded the “Silver Omul” prize at the 3rd “Baikal Mascot” International Festival of National Theaters, held in Irkutsk, the Russian Federation.
Artists from the Puppet Theatre of Mongolia participated in the Festival, which took place on June 1-10, 2025, with "Morin Khuur" Play, written by Honored Artist of Mongolia T. Enerel and directed by Honored Artist of Mongolia B. Davaasuren, earning top honors. What sets the “Baikal Mascot” Festival apart is its focus on plays inspired by national literature, epic tales, and folklore.
This year’s event brought together more than 400 artists from over 20 theaters across Mongolia, the Russian Federation, Belarus, the People's Republic of China, Armenia, and other countries.
Notably, "Morin Khuur" Play was also named Best Puppet Play at the 18th Saint Muse International Theatre Festival.
