Ulaanbataar /MONTSAME/ During his working visit to the United Arab Emirates on February 10-14, Minister of Construction and Urban Development Kh.Badelkhan met with UAE Minister of Economy Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori.
Emphasizing that the 2016 opening of the UAE Embassy in Mongolia was an important step in deepening the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, H.E. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori expressed an interest in boosting bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
After Minister Kh.Badelkhan informed on the development progress of the new Chinggis Khaan International Airport in Khushig valley and the satellite cities to be developed around the airport as well as the project to supply equipment to construction material laboratories in the 21 Mongolian aimags, H.E. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori noted that air transport and logistics are of great significance for the expansion of bilateral cooperation and proposed launching direct flights between the two countries and establishing cooperation in tourism.
The UAE side also shared information on the policies and strategies the country has adopted to diversify its natural resource-dependent economy and lead the world in trade, finance, tourism, transport and logistics.
The sides agreed to provide equipment for the aforementioned 21 aimag construction laboratories with non-refundable aid from the UAE and establish memorandums of understanding to launch direct flights and start cooperating in tourism, air transport, and logistics.
