Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/.  A seven-month pregnant woman gave birth to a baby girl on board a train travelling from Zamiin Uud to Ulaanbaatar on the night of January 13, Tuesday.

At around 00.23 AM, the baby’s mother went into labor and required medical assistance. However, she could not wait to reach the hospital, so the train staff located a woman on board who has experience with childbirth delivery. The mother, E.Enkhnar, was travelling with her mother and sister when she welcomed her first child, reports the Ulaanbaatar Railways national railway operator.

The Ulaanbaatar railways state-owned company points out births in train happen each year and it was the first case of this year. The first baby born on board was on April 25, 1960 a train from Sukhbaatar aimag to Ulaanbaaar city and his parents named their child Ganzam, means ‘Steel road’ in Mongolian. Ganzam’s mother later happened to work as a train conductor between 1970 and 1996 at the Ulaanbaatar Railways.
